Reading is a luxury that I have allowed myself and is for me a sense of great freedom. And in addition it is the books themselves as objects that I adore. Books are things, which I surround myself with. Once I have bought a book, I do not and simply can never bring myself to sell it or give it away.
Books have become as essential to our home as any other element of furniture and because my wife is an avid reader as well, and we seem seldom to read the same books, we have an ever-growing crisis of how we can find space for yet one more bookshelf. But that is a problem that I delight in having to deal with.
