Manasc Isaac Architects won a design competition to complete the design of the new Beth Israel Synagogue located in west Edmonton.
This facility, with a total area of 2500 m, will seat 800 people in the main sanctuary and 500 in the social hall. It is designed to allow for these two large spaces to be combined during major events.
In addition to the large meeting spaces, the Synagogue contains a kitchen, Mikvah (bathhouse), a library and administration offices. A continuous walkway circumnavigates the sanctuary to provide access to the male and female portions of the ceremonial space, the side prayer hall, the Mikvah, and the library.
