Athabasca University's administrative offices were reorganized and moved from their location at 107th Street to the top two floors of the Peace Hills Trust Tower on 109th Street. All departments were grouped together and given shared support space. Previous security concerns from their old location were addressed in the new location.
Manasc Isaac Architects created a functional program for Athabasca University's new space which addressed all issues related to reorganization. We implemented a strategy to increase the amount of light on each floor by locating all workstations around the perimeter of the building, while keeping built space around the core. We also designed a movable wall system (made out of strawboard) to allow for space changes without waste that can be associated with future renovations.
Manasc Isaac Architects also assumed the role of General Contractor and Construction Manager, building great working relationships with all the trades involved. This project was finished on time and on budget.
