EPCOR and the City of Edmonton had a need for a new substation building to house modern trolley bus switch gear at EPCOR's Rossdale site loacated in the river valley.
The Substation is situated at the east entry gate and is designed to integrate with the existing buildings on site, while creating an opportunity for EPCOR to express its image and mandate to the public.
This new Substation forms a ‘gateway’ to the site via the shape of the building by encouraging public use of the proposed new millennium park.
